Hiya, just read on one of the replies to one of the other posts that Bibble said she wouldn't use a co-sleeper again. Maybe I have picked up the intention wrongly, I think you meant one of the co sleeper cots. We were looking into one as a replacement for our baby's cot, as we have had probs with it anyway, but also, she never hardly sleeps in it. Hy husband last week slept in spare room due to cold and she slept better, so I wondered if she would benefit from a bit more of her own space. We already have a king size bed, but it was just a thought. Normally she stirs every 1 1/2 - 2 hours, when I feed her back to sleep, but this week she was sleeping approx 3 hours at a time, which she hasn't done for months. Whilst I remember, what do people do once their baby starts crawling etc when they sleep in a family bed, or one with a co sleeper attatched. She is pretty mobile already and all but crawling, but I usually put her in her cot during the day and evening, for fear that she might roll off or take the opportunity to learn crawling! However that is happening less so as she is harder to put down nowadays without wakening her, so I often leave her on our bed. There is a bed guard though at my side. Could put pillows down I suppose, but just wondered what others did. Have other people's babies crawled off bed during the day or in evening??

HI Gilly!
I think that you are talking about a side-carred crib, or an Arms Reach type of co-sleeper, right? What I was talking about was a teeny little cosleeper that actually lays on your bed. Its only good up until 15lb. I'll try and find a pic to post.
About babe crawling out of bed. We never had that - thankfully, and I also didn't have a guard rail (bad! I know!). Our bed is low to the ground, so I would put pillows on the ground. One of us was always with her while she was asleep in the big bed. Otherwise, for naps, or when she would go to bed much earlier than us, we did have a crib that we would put her in (gotta use those gifts, eh?lol). It gave me peice of mind while she was napping - especially if i wanted a shower or did somethign requiring me to maybe not be able to get in to her straight away if she roused.
Also, now that she is older I am way less concerned. SHe can get in and out of bed just fine. She hasn't once yet crawled, climbed off of the bed in the middle of the night, only in the mornings when she is ready to face the day!
Oh, I feel it needs to be said - The co-sleeper i had served a great purpose at the time, I was so nervous those days that I felt we were all safer if DD was 'in the co=sleeper'. SO i slept better. Now that I am so much more comfortable with having a baby in the bed, and have learned so much more about co sleeping, i dont think i would want for it again the next time around. If that makes sense!
