Hello.
I'm here by accident, but that's understandable when you realise that I'm considered an AP by accident aswell. When myself and my husband started a family, 11 years ago - we hadn't a CLUE... so we made it all up as we went along. We just parented. We made a home before we brought a child into the world, we took care of the pregnancy before it started to give our child the best chance, we learned how best to mind her as we went along - and it wasn't difficult, because she helped us and taught us what she needed. We wore her in a sling because it was convenient, and she liked the closeness. We slept with her beside us, because it made sense to breastfeed her that way instead of jumping up and down every few hours. We held her close, kept her safe, talked to her, played with her, loved her - and she thrived on it. So did her sister...and her other sister...and her other sister. It was only a few months back that someone mentioned us in passing as being AP. We hadn't realised it 'had a name' - and even now, I hesitate to call what we do 'attachment parenting', because to us it's just the natural, sensible, proper way to raise our babies.
I can still post though, right? *nervous grin*
x Chicky

I'm just gonna hijack your post chick and introduce myself this way - safe my keyboard as my post would be pretty much the same ... make it a son rather than four daughters and make it 9 months ago rather than 11 years and it's a snap.

hard to believe but yeah, I did. Funny coincidence that seeing as I was thinking all day yesterday how nice it would be to have an AP forum after the parenting chat board on babywearing ireland opened ...
